We (a family of three) stayed in Santander from Christmas to Easter 2009 for work reasons but made a nice extended holiday out of it too. While Santander isn’t the jewel of Spain in terms of architecture, it is a pleasant city with some nice features and great beaches. There are also some fantastic attractions in the Cantabria region.
